  • Our Library is engaged to cater towards the demand of the evolving education system, to build a resource centre enabling a positive thrust for multidimensional development  of the student and the college at large.

    Library Hours:

  • Our library remains open from 10:00 a.m.  to 5:00 p.m on all working days and 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. on Saturdays.
  • Lending facilities:
  • At a time three books maximum for Honours and two books maximum for General course,  against the library lending card.
    The VH/PH students are entitled for books under privilege card.
  • Reading facilities :
  • At a time five books for Honours & General course against the library reference card.
  • OUR RESOURCE

  • Library maintains a rich collection of books on Commerce including its varied dimensions as well as on the  ongoing streams of commerce, arts and science. Commerce, Bengali, English, Mathematics, Economics, History, Education, Political Science, Computer science, Physics and Sanskrit are the subjects under the purview for enhancement of the collection.
  • Our library maintains a collection of books on competitive exams for entry-into- service.
  • Separate collection for remedial coaching is being maintained for the slow learners.
  • Reference books including bilingual, multilingual dictionaries serve our students . Exemplified collection on life and works of eminent Authors highlight our reference section.
  • COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT POLICY

  • Ours is a precise and up-to-date collection after recommendation of  the faculty ,the students  and the librarian .
  • CLASSIFICATION OF BOOKS ACCORDING TO DDC 22nd  EDITION.

    OUR INITIATIVE:

    1. Development of students’ habit of reading and borrowing books.
    2. Providing information to perform self learning, discussion hours with the faculties concerned within the library with the help of the library resources.
    3. To maintain a student book ratio as per demand.
    4. The students are regularly introduced to the books purchased by the library.
    5. Special attention to financially challenged students of all disciplines.
    6. Providing internet browsing facility to the students , restricted to websites of academic discipline and under vigilance of the faculty concerned.
    7. Conducting regular  library awareness and orientation programmes.
    8. Newspaper reading facility, specially the employment and career oriented ones are provided  within the library.
    9. Inform the students regarding job advertisements & career scopes.
    10. Knowledge on current affairs are provided through the library for the interested students. Intellectual contributions of the students & faculty for academic supplementation through newsletter (The Library Interface)
    11. Institutional membership for maximum access to printed & online resources .

     

    The process  of automation is underway with KOHA(Integrated Library Management Software).
